And maintaining that weight loss?
There are a number of factors that come into releasing your weight, some of the more common are the obvious ones:
- eating too much;
- having too much of the wrong thing;
- eating too quickly;
- not exercising; or just
- grabbing for those high carb/high calorie foods when we are busy or tired.
Other factors also include:
- Low self esteem/Unworthiness;
- Stress and Anxiety;
- Fear of Failure;
- Grief/loss;
- Not accepting yourself;
- Emotional dissatisfaction;
- Childhood teachings i.e. eat everything on your plate;
- Attitude;

So what do we need to do to release “that” weight:
- We need to eat sensibly and keep in mind portion control;
- Triggers/Behaviours – Develop Self Awareness
- Know that you can do it – Believe You Can;
- Stop and reassess your state of health/wellbeing;
- Make a plan – be flexible – set weight release goals;
- Take baby steps - A baby learns to crawl before it can walk, and it learns to walk before it can run – don’t expect rapid changes – do your best to overcome the roadblocks (obstacles) – resource information;
- Accept yourself for whom you are – be happy with yourself – life is full of up’s and down’s;
- Be patient – determined to succeed (be persistent and consistent – BE COMMITTED);
- Stop making excuses – change one tiny thing – move out of your comfort zone;
- Take responsibility and be accountable for yourself – make the changes effortless;
- Relax – reset the fight/flight response – nurture yourself – calm the body and mind;
- Accept Failure – it is only feedback on learning;
- Call on support – praise and encourage yourself.
These are just a few of the opportunities you have to make those changes for your weight release.
