Hypnotherapy for Fears and Phobias

Phobias can be defined as irrational fears of a specific object, activity, or situation that lead to an overwhelming desire to avoid it. There are hundreds of types of fears and phobias and they all have one thing in common: An intense desire to avoid something which leaves you feeling upset, anxious and incapacitated.

Hypnotherapy can help eliminate fears and phobias.

If you are unable to avoid the fear or phobia it may bring about distressing symptoms, such as feeling hot or cold, shortness of breath, shaking, loss of strength within the body, feeling tired or even upset in the stomach. There are literally hundreds of phobias, falling in to the three broad categories of Social, Spatial and Specific

Social phobias are those that involve a fear of negative appraisal by those around you, a fear of social situations and/or embarrassment. These include a fear of general social situations, fear of self expression, fear of crowds or large groups, fear of public speaking, fear of eating in public, and a fear of leaving the house (agoraphobia).

Most people think these phobias and their symptoms are physical things that they have no control over. In fact, these reactions are actually facilitated in your mind. Your thoughts, feelings and beliefs manifest these physical symptoms in your body which can be eliminated permanently by changing how you think, believe and feel.

Spatial phobias involve the spaces you may find yourself in. They include agoraphobia, the fear of open spaces or of a particular public place, and claustrophobia, the fear of being trapped in a confined space. Fear of heights is also included in this category.

These phobias come in varying levels of intensity. If you're finding that your life is beginning to be negatively impacted by your fears, then it is time to eliminate them.

Specific phobias may include all of the other phobias not mentioned above. They involve being fearful of a particular object or a certain situation. Some examples include aerophobia (fear of flying), astraphobia (fear of storms), mysophobia (fear of germs) and arachnophobia (fear of spiders).

Our resident Hypnotherapist Karen can change the way you think by changing the focus of your subconscious mind, helping you break down your fears and phobias until they are insignificant or gone completely. This can be achieved by working with the cause of your fear and breaking down the emotional connection to it until it is completely transformed.
